Gelsenkirchen, December 4, 2008. Masterflex AG is once again supporting people in crisis situations this year. At the company headquarters in Willy-Brandt-Allee, division manager Bodo Kuhnhenn and company spokeswoman Stephanie Kniep now presented a check for €4,000 to volunteer helper Gerd Häcke from the "Herzenswünsche e.V." association.
"Herzenswünsche" is active throughout Germany with around seventy volunteers and three full-time helpers. The association fulfills seriously ill children and adolescents a long-awaited wish, which can thus give the respective child new courage and strength. Since its foundation in 1992, many thousands of wishes have been fulfilled.
Ilona Rohde, Managing Director of Heartkick e.V., was present at the handover, as Masterflex AG had become aware of "Heart's Wishes" through its involvement as a sponsor of the "Heartkick" charity soccer tournaments in 2007 and 2008. HeartKick e.V. pursues the cross-organizational goal of supporting people in crisis situations.
With the donation from Masterflex AG, ten-year-old Björn from the Hanover area, among others, will meet the Paralympic national ski team next week. Skiing together, there are sure to be valuable training tips on how Björn can get closer to his big dream of becoming an Olympic champion in ten years.
In addition, the donation will support seventeen-year-old Franziska from the Herten area, who will be able to meet the women's national soccer team in spring 2009 and experience a soccer match live as a guest of honor.
