For 12 years, Girls` Day has given girls the opportunity to find out about careers in the fields of technology, science, crafts and IT.
Masterflex AG also participated in the nationwide campaign again this year. The Girls' Future Day is intended to give young women who are in the career orientation phase an insight into technical and scientific professions and thus arouse interest in these exciting occupational fields.
Six female students from the 10th grade of the comprehensive school in Gelsenkirchen-Buer took the opportunity to spend a day learning about the work processes in the administration and production departments of Masterflex AG. A questionnaire with many different questions about the departments, the tasks and the products was prepared in advance. In a kind of company rally, the participants of the Girls` Day had to work out answers to the various questions by visiting the individual departments such as Technology, Warehouse & Shipping, Purchasing, Sales, Marketing and Investor Relations and answering the questions with the help of the employees. After the rally, the results they had worked out were presented to the group.
The participants had fun "getting a feel" for the individual work areas and were able to gain exciting and informative insights into the daily work of an internationally active industrial company.
It is important to Masterflex to support Girls` Day in order to promote interest in technology, which can only develop if people are given the opportunity to get to grips with it. The career choice of girls should thus also be expanded to include the technical and scientific spectrum. There are still many hidden talents that are to be awakened with the help of this campaign, because Masterflex believes that women and technology go very well together.
