Masterflex AG, Gelsenkirchen. April 27, 2009
On April 23, Masterflex AG participated in the nationwide campaign "Girls'Day" - the girls' day of the future. Five girls from grade 9 of the comprehensive school Gelsenkirchen-Buer, initially accompanied by the representative for equal opportunities of the employment agency Gelsenkirchen, Mrs. Füting, spent a taster day at Masterflex AG.
After a detailed tour of the company, the girls had the opportunity to take a closer look at all of the company's departments in the form of a company rally. Through personal conversations with employees of the international company and targeted, sometimes tricky questions about the individual departments, they were able to get to know areas such as Technology, Warehouse & Shipping, Investor Relations, as well as some of the tasks of an Executive Board member. The day was rounded off with intensive job application training to prepare the girls for future career requirements.
Why a future day for girls?
Once a year, "Girls' Day" offers schoolgirls in grades 5 to 10 the opportunity to get to know the world of work and gain an insight into a wide range of professions, particularly in the technical and scientific fields. Girls' Day" pursues the goal of significantly broadening girls' spectrum of career choices through contacts between schoolgirls and the working world. Girls should be encouraged to make use of the diversity of their talents and also to take an interest in professions in new, promising industries.
