Sustainability does not end with the product. That's why we are now also offering consulting services - true to the motto: sharing knowledge, growing together. Whether it's the use of biodegradable or cradle-to-cradle materials, design or the development of sustainable hose solutions - we now also support our customers in making their products more environmentally friendly.
The first spiral hose made from biodegradable, cradle-to-cradle materials is the proud result of our intensive development work and marks a significant step towards sustainable hose solutions. Because nothing remains of this hose at the end of its life cycle: what cannot be recycled becomes a nutrient for microorganisms.
With these new, virtually compostable hoses, we offer environmentally friendly solutions that underline our claim as market leader for hoses and hose systems in terms of sustainability and circular economy. At the same time, we are increasingly offering our customers support in terms of the circular economy and helping them to transform into sustainable products.
"The circular economy starts with product design. With our expertise and experience in this area, we support our customers in the selection of materials, design, development and implementation of sustainable hose solutions," says CEO Dr. Andreas Bastin.
For customers, the hoses and connection systems used in a closed loop mean greater efficiency and a reduction in waste. On the other hand, they have the opportunity to adapt to expected future regulations at an early stage and can benefit from the knowledge, experience and network of the Masterflex Group.
The first cradle-to-cradle-capable hose is also a milestone in our corporate strategy Hero@Zero, which aims to achieve a fully circular economic system for all products. To this end, the Masterflex Group's current consulting and product business will be gradually reorganized by 2035 and expanded to include additional services such as take-back, recycling and eco-certification.
The goal is an endless circular economy for plastic hoses.
"Few companies pursue this approach as consistently as we do," says Bastin. "We are proud to be pioneers in the industry and want to make a contribution to greater sustainability together with our customers."
