Gelsenkirchen, December 2012 - At the end of October, the Masterflex Group, which today operates worldwide, celebrated its 25th anniversary of foundation at its headquarters in Gelsenkirchen. The request to all guests to make a donation to the Gelsenkirchener Tafel instead of presents was followed by many guests. In this way, the nice sum of 3,820 euros was collected and recently handed over to the Tafel.
Managing Director Hartwig Szymiczek: "Of course we were very happy about these donations. We would like to thank all donors. This will enable us to buy the fresh ingredients we need on an ongoing basis for our snacks. The donations help us to deliver a total of approximately 87,000 units of break time snacks with fruits or vegetables this year."
Ole Stein, Business Unit Manager at Masterflex in Gelsenkirchen: "In July, our employees had donated an amount of 1,500 euros, which had been collected at our summer party. It is nice that it has now become even more. And we also saw for ourselves on site that the money is being put to good use for the Tafel's measures."
The aim of the cooperation with the non-profit organization Gelsenkirchener Tafel e.V. is primarily to support the Tafel in its "Pausenbrot" initiative ("It's hard to learn on an empty stomach") as well as the Tafel's other activities for disadvantaged children and their families, such as the clothing store. The collection, management and distribution of the food is carried out by volunteers.
